What this app is

Quiet Strength Recovery is a free, optional self-guided recovery guide built from lived experience. It shares personal recovery tools, reflections and routines that people may choose to use or ignore.

Quiet Strength Recovery is a peer-support and educational recovery guide created from lived experience. It is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any medical condition or mental health disorder. The information and tools provided are not a substitute for professional medical advice, clinical therapy or emergency medical intervention. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional for medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. If you or someone else is in immediate danger or crisis, contact local emergency services or a crisis helpline.

Workbook data

No Quiet Strength account is required. Workbook entries, daily outputs and settings are stored in the browser/app storage on your device.

The current app encrypts workbook data before storage using the device browser's Web Crypto functions. The encryption key is derived from your passcode; the readable passcode itself is not stored by Quiet Strength Recovery.

Full workbook backups created from Settings are encrypted and require the passcode that protected the workbook when the backup was created.

The recovery date, sober-day counter and milestone progress are part of the encrypted local workbook state.

Files you choose to export

If you deliberately download or print an individual daily record, text archive or PDF, that exported file is readable. You control where those files are saved and shared. Store them somewhere private.

Website hosting and technical requests

The app's static website files are hosted by Netlify. When your device requests those files, the hosting service may process technical request information such as an IP address, browser/device information and request metadata for delivery, reliability and security.

Quiet Strength Recovery does not intentionally send your typed workbook answers to Netlify or to a Quiet Strength cloud database. This version has no cloud workbook sync and no advertising or analytics SDK built into the workbook.

Support links and phone/text actions

The urgent-support section can open phone, text or external website links for recognised support services. Once you leave Quiet Strength Recovery or contact another service, that organisation's own privacy practices apply.

Deleting your data

You can delete older daily history from the Recovery Progress page without resetting the recovery date or milestone counter. You can also use Erase local data to remove the entire workbook, recovery profile and passcode stored by Quiet Strength Recovery on that device. Clearing the site's browser storage or uninstalling/clearing app data can also remove local data.

Because the workbook is local-first and has no Quiet Strength account, Quiet Strength Recovery cannot recover a forgotten passcode or restore local entries that were erased without a backup.

Security

The app uses local encryption as an additional privacy layer. You should also keep your phone or computer protected with its normal screen lock and device encryption. No security method can guarantee absolute protection.

Children

Quiet Strength Recovery is intended for adults aged 18 and over. It is a self-guided recovery resource, not a service for children. If a child needs support, contact an appropriate children’s service or safeguarding professional.

Changes to this policy

If the app's data handling changes, this page will be updated so that the published policy reflects the current version.
